Introduction :
RG 238 is a soft waxy material made by blending various inhibitors and consists of a calcium soap of oxygenated hydrocarbons.
The Characteristic of RG 238 is its protection, which will provide resistance for limited period of time to salt spray and were thin film rust preventives are required for protection against humidity.
RG 238 is a water displacing non staining rust preventive which will separate water displaced from metal surface after machining operations or after alkali cleaning.

- Colour : Dark Brown liquid
- Drop melting point : 41 - 44
- Acid number : 4 –8
- Density : 0.92 – 0.97
- Flash Point : 130 – 140
Recommended Formulation
Industrial Rust Preventives :
- 10 – 14 % RG 238 & Balance mineral sprits ( Solvents )
- 18 – 24 % RG 238 & Balance mineral oils
The selection of carrier ( oil, solvent or mixtures ) is based on the type of film desired.
Applications :
- For limited period of salt spray.
- Quickly separates water from metal surfaces.
- Temporary storage of indoor parts.
- Percentage may vary depending on the duration and coat required.
