Introduction :
RG 2028 is a soft waxy material made by blending various inhibitors and consists of a barium soap of oxygenated hydrocarbons.
The Characteristic of RG 2028 is its protection offered under extreme conditions of SALT SPRAY is excellent. RG 2028 is non emulsifiable, non staining in nature further it does not emulsify even in the presence of alkali.
The protective film of RG 2028 left on the metal after evaporation of solvent is ultra thin and highly protective. RG 2028 can also be used in mineral oil solution to provide water displacement.

- Colour : Brown waxy solid
- Drop melting point : 45 - 50
- Acid number : 5 – 10
- Density : 0.92 – 0.97
- Flash Point : 140 - 150
Recommended Formulation
Industrial Rust Preventives :
- 10 – 12 % RG 2028 & Balance mineral sprits ( Solvents )
- 12 – 15 % RG 2028 & Balance mineral oils
The selection of carrier ( oil, solvent or mixtures ) is based on the type of film desired.
Applications :
- For temporary indoor storage of parts
- Quickly separates water from metal surfaces
- Passes salt spray test
- Percentage may vary depending on the duration and coat required.
