Introduction :
RG 350 is a oxidized petrolatum - mixture of relatively high molecular weight organic acids, lactones and esters derived from petroleum.

RG 350 provides excellent rust protection in formulating industrial lubricating oils, greases, hydraulic fluids, slushing oils and various other protective compounds.

With its non – staining characteristics, this product is ideally suited for formulations that call for a high level of rust protection.

RG 350 is compatible with most mineral base oils, white oils & synthetic base stocks. The acids present in the oxidate can be neutralized with bivalent metal oxides e.g. Calcium – hydroxide or Barium – hydroxide, giving end – products of a high molecular weight with excellent water – resistant & anti corrosion.

Applications :

As a lubricity agent : 0.5 – 2.5% in oil
As a rust inhibitor : 1.0 – 5.0 % of a blend of seven parts with three parts sulfonate in oil & or solvent
In the formulation of slushing oils for sheet metal stock : 1.0 – 5.0 % of a blend of seven parts with three parts sulfonate in oil & or solvent
In the formulation of wire rope dressings for lubricity and corrosion inhibition.
As a corrosion inhibitor for halogenated solvents & chlorinated lubricants : up to 1%
As a corrosion inhibitor and lubricity agent in greases: 0.5 – 2.0 %.
